It’s been seven years since Russian and Georgian forces went to war. The reason? A breakaway region in the Georgian heartland known as South Ossetia. But in the years since, what has happened in the region and what bearing does this have on Georgia’s potential integration into NATO and the EU?

As the Estonian Army’s Scouts Battalion prepare to take part in NATO exercise Trident Juncture in October, some of the soldiers talk about what they hope to bring to the exercise and what they hope to get from it. The Battalion practices storming buildings and firing at targets just outside the Estonian town of Voru. Trident Juncture is NATO’s most ambitious land, sea and air exercise in more than a decade. Involving 36,000 troops from 30 Allied and Partner Nations, it is primarily hosted by Italy, Portugal and Spain.

Intel+Toshiba and advertising agency Pereira O’Dell have released this cool commercial recently. The video continues the brilliant campaign „The Beauty Inside“. The spot is about Alex, who wakes up every morning and gets a totally different body. One day he is a young girl, other day he is a senior. Confusing. The campaign was made by using fans’ support: they had uploaded their pictures and videos, so that later they were selected to participate in the campaign. Watch the spot and have a good laugh.

Leica and advertising agency F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi from Brazil have released this beautiful film. The black and white film is shown from the camera’s perspective. We can even hear its story. Leica once was the camera of a war photographer. We follow their story, which takes us to a dangerous war zone, but is intercepted with love affairs occasionally. Although the internet is used widely, there are still areas where it is unavailable. Google invests in its technology, so that the connection would reach people in rural ares, as well. Hornbach and advertising agency Heimet from Berlin have released this epic video ad. The German hardware brand have decided to show how it makes its tools. For years Germany is known for its quality in engineer department. Usually it is all about big and heavy machinery. The brand has decided to break this myth, therefore, they bought a Czech BMP-1 Infantry Tank and dismantled it. And made a hammer out of it. Watch the spot and have a good laugh.

The Afghan commandos based in Helmand Province have been fighting heavily in northern districts over the past year. As US forces leave Camp Leatherneck and British forces leave Camp Bastion, the Afghan 7th Commando Battalion at adjacent Camp Shorabak will remain, along with the regular Afghan National Army, running operations by road and by air, when helicopters are available. Afghan commandos face continued fighting in Sangin, often without helicopters for missions or medevacs. Here, patrolling IED-prone roads to Gereshk, these men speak of duty and loss.

Sony 4K TV and advertising agency 180 from Los Angeles have released this amazing video commercial lately. The spot features a filmmaker, who dreams about the technology, which would enable to depict the smallest details on film. The creatives have pulled off this beautiful and surreal spot, which is filled with fantastic scenes. Director Garth Davis said: “The sea connects to our inner world and can be deeply emotional and surreal. I also love how the imagination can be so random, and the connection in the scenes are somewhat there but not understood. … I looked back for inspiration at Salvador Dali, J.M.W. Turner, Fellini and Andrew Wyeth, all of which reminded me to be bold, mad, elegant and precise.” Watch the video and tell us if you liked it as much as we did.

By early 2014, Afghan security forces were largely operating independently, with only specialist support from ISAF. In April, Afghan troops in Sangin were taking back Helmand on their own in heavy battles with the Taliban.

Maytag and advertising agency Red Lion from Toronto have released a new funny campaign. The spot features a lady, who claims in front of the camera that her washing machine works just fine, alright. Then the camera depicts how the clothes are being washed in her household: in a living room her family has opened a very bizarre laundry service. Maytag offers its washing machines that will do the work reasonably. Watch the video and have a good laugh.

From 2010 onwards, Afghan soldiers in partnership with ISAF steadily started taking on more of the fighting. In Operation Dragon Strike in Kandahar in 2010, they fought alongside Canadian and Afghan forces to root out Taliban insurgents from Zahri district.
